After more than 25 years searching for that perfect tone, I decided to make my own.

Years of playing.

Years of chasing sounds that never quite matched the voice in my head.

Years of experimenting, building, and exploring.

I’m Leigh Greenhough, founder of Green Pickups. I hold a BMus degree in Professional Musicianship and bring together over 25 years of experience as a professional guitarist with a HND in electrical engineering.

I’ve been playing, building, and modifying guitars since my teens. Over the years, I’ve performed, written music, and taught guitar—while also working as an engineer designing and installing electrical systems throughout the uk. Like many musicians, I’ve balanced the love of music with the realities of making a living.

Becoming a dad gave me a new sense of purpose—and the push to finally create something of my own.

Green Pickups are built with curiosity, precision, and a genuine love for the instrument. Handmade in our Sound Shed in Manchester, UK, every pickup reflects a unique combination of musical knowledge and engineering skill. Designed with a careful balance of vintage character and modern reliability, they’re the result of a lifelong obsession with guitars and the endless pursuit of tone.
