My Adjustable Pole Strat Pickups are an excellent option for players who want a classic, fat, midrange-rich tone without needing to modify their guitar. The main goal of these is to replicate the signature P90 tone—a raw, punchy midrange with a balanced mix of brightness and warmth.
Whilst they’re not identical to full-sized P90s (due to size and construction differences), they get impressively close. When compared to standard single-coils, these pickups tend to sound thicker and warmer but retain some of the clarity and high-end sparkle that single-coil users love.
They’re designed to fit into standard single-coil (Strat-style or Tele-style) pickup routes, so you don’t have to carve up your guitar. They add more grit and growl to your tone, making them ideal for blues, rock, punk, or even jazz.
They are built using custom made zinc-plated steel screws. What sets them apart from other similar “S-90s” is the use of screws with a much larger diameter. This design increases the pickup’s inductance, resulting in a naturally louder output. Many other pickup builders attempt to achieve high output by increasing the resistance of their pickups, but that approach misunderstands the fundamentals of pickup physics!
