Greens’ Signature Pickup
My very own signature model comes from many years of searching for a sound that satisfies the voice in my head. By combining lightly bevelled Alnico IV and V magnets, these pickups are exceptionally sensitive to pick attack. They offer rich harmonics, a tight low end and truly shine when paired with a Fender-style amplifier and a Tube Screamer overdrive pedal.
The Alnico IV magnets are specifically chosen to tame any harshness often associated with Alnico V sets, while still providing a touch more sustain than Alnico III magnets. The result is a sweet and balanced tone that covers the entire frequency spectrum. To add some extra punch for lead playing, the bridge pickup is wound slightly hotter and features a steel baseplate. I feel this set has eliminated the need of a 5 way selector for my Strat! Want SRV? Hit the middle pup! Want Hendrix? Hit the neck! Want a lead tone? Hit the bridge!
Completing the package is a 60’s style aged pole stagger and cloth-covered hookup wire, adding a touch of vintage charm to these modern pickups. They offer the best of both worlds - the functionality of contemporary pickups with the timeless design of classic vintage models.
