The Zac Schulze Strat Pickup Set

from £90.00

The Zac Schulze Gang has established themselves as one of the UK’s hardest-working bands, fronted by the electrifying guitarist and vocalist Zac Schulze. Drawing inspiration from iconic 20th-century blues and rock artists, the band delivers energetic and upbeat performances. They have been recognized as the Emerging Blues Act of 2024, played at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festival, and toured the U.S. with Samantha Fish, highlighting their rising prominence.

Zac’s guitar style is influenced by legends like Rory Gallagher, Joe Bonamassa, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and John Mayer. He typically uses a simple setup with one amp and one pedal, making the guitar’s tone essential to his sound.

“I wanted a set that offered two classic Strat tones: the thick, rich sound of Eric Johnson/Bonamassa in the bridge, and the clear, bell-like tones of Mayer/SRV in the neck and middle. For me, it’s the best of both worlds. I use the volume control constantly when playing, so it was crucial to have pickups that stay clear and don’t get muddy or dark when the volume is turned down. These pickups deliver clarity from 1 to 10. They’re workhorse pickups; throw these in any Strat and get to work!”

The pickups comprise of a 43AWG Formvar wound bridge and mild steel baseplate measuring at 8.5k resistance. This gives Zac a great platform for those blistering lead lines he’s known for. The middle and neck are wound with 42AWG Plain Enamel, measuring around 6k. Perfect for those glassy strat tones we all know and love!
